BROMSGROVE firm Reedmace Talent has become one of the first major companies to adopt a metaverse as a place of work.
Owner Dan Corcoran founded Reedmace Talent from his Bromsgrove home in 2019. His aim was to form a new kind of business which would shun traditional recruitment practices by showing startups how to do their own hiring. His business has since helped over 60 tech startups to hire staff. He started working from home but found it tough to attract staff without a physical office. Following the pandemic, the firm decided to offer remote working.
Finding the home working isolating, Dan decided to build a metaverse. Its purpose was for daily meetings and that usual officer camaraderie and ‘water cooler’ moments during breaks. Dan and his staff now work almost entirely in the metaverse, meeting and interacting with each other and customers.
This has led to interest from larger companies in Reedmace Talents’ approach to remote working. Following social media posts about the 2D metaverse, Reedmace Talent began attracting global coverage. The firm was featured in a podcast for multi-billion dollar tech company Citrix.
