Silo AI acquires Machine2Learn to bolster presence in Western Europe

Helsinki-based Silo AI, a private AI lab that delivers AI-driven solutions and products, announced it has acquired Amsterdam’s Machine2Learn, experts in Machine Learning.

Following Silo AI’s entrance to Canada earlier this year, the acquisition marks yet another milestone in the company’s worldwide expansion.

What does Machine2Learn offer?
Co-founded in 2017 by Dr Ali Bahramisharif and Tom Heskes, a professor at Radboud University, Machine2Learn is a research-oriented company founded in 2017. It offers customised solutions based on machine vision and machine learning, especially for machinery and process quality control.

The company specialises in making machine learning applications’ deployment, management, and maintenance simpler. 

Machine2Learn claims that its machine vision solutions offer vital quality control data for the equipment, manufacturing, logistics, and semiconductor industries. Some of its clients include AkzoNobel, T-Mobile, and Unilever, among others.

The founders of the firm are at the forefront of the world’s AI research. Prof Heskes, who has an h-index of 55 and has served as a long-term editor of Neurocomputing, is a specialist internationally and one of the pioneers in machine learning research.

While Bahramisharif previously worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam and as a team leader in the machine learning spin-off company Scyfer which was sold to Qualcomm in 2017.
